Sophie Block Ceramics 

My inspiration for my teopot was the work done by Gudmundur Thoroddsen. I was fascinated by the way he manipulated ceramics in odd lumps and shapes. He often contrasts the organic looking body of the piece with a some-what symmetrical tops and bottoms. I attempted to mimic the contrast in my piece with a radial top and a organic shaped teapot. In addition, I like his use of natural, non-bright colors. Thoroddsen makes each piece old looking so I mixed at least three glazes to create a natural, uneven glaze job.
